We don't offer the adoption of single children, however, we do offer the adoption of an entire school. This ensures that we can guarantee the continuation of school life for three years so that we can connect the school directly with the people who are adopting. We have seen that especially companies and associations are interested in personal and direct help of the children so that members, staff and clients are positively motivated. One adoption isn't expensive. One school with 50 students costs around €2500 a year.
Most of our schools are simple bungalows with a natural roof made from leaves where about 25-150 students are educated. They're all refugee children from Burma (now known as Myanmar). In the school they learn their native language as well as Burmese, Thai, some basic English, Mathematics, History and other basic education.
In the small huts which are only a few square meters in size children are taught in different classes by four teachers. The children are given healthy food once a day. The cost of sending a child to school for one year is only €50 (everything included).
Our adopter pays the costs for the school of their choice for a minimum of three years. We tell the school about the adopter and it would be nice if the latter would be able to send something to the school (e.g. Photos or Letters) so that there is a personal connection between them and the school. The adopter can also come and visit the school.
The school life is documented in written word and photos. Each year the adopter receives update information on the school's progress along with details about the school's budget for that year and at the end of school year a detailed report about how their money is being used. The photos and the reports can be used by the adopter for their own publicity and at public events.
