The situation of the refugees along the Thai border has worsened, substantially caused by the heavy rising prices for food. From one day to the other many families have found themselves being unable to feed their children and have started to withdraw them from school in order to send them to work. The daily lunch in the schools of Help without Frontiers and additional space in dormitories is contributing to reduce the impact of the price increases on the families' budget; the children are allowed continue with their school education.

A healthy meal produced and delivered by the kitchen of Help without Frontiers (1.600 meals a day at the moment) costs 30 Eurocents (45 US Cents) or 66 Euro (86 USD) per student and school year. The cost to provide 3 meals a day, 7 days a week to the students in the dormitories is 270 Euro (350 USD).

We are aware of the fact that the ongoing economic crisis reduces the resources to give for charity. But we believe that the wonderful feeling produced by knowing that with a small amount you can change the lives of a child and the prospective of a whole nation should be enough motivation to continue your support.
